Why no necks?

I won't ask why they have no necks, but rather how their heads are able to float in mid-air?

I'll just hit two birds with one stone then (and a third bird if anyone was going to ask how they can even suffocate when they like... don't have a throat attaching their heads to their lungs)... I remembered a show I used to watch called "Daft Planet", and that's sort of how their characters were. No necks, floating heads. As you may have been able to tell by the colouring and backgrounds, I was pretty lazy when I made it... I didn't feel like drawing necks or going into details, and I remembered that show, so I just went ahead and made it like that.
